The streaming service allows Sky customers to watch TV from up to 70 entertainment channels live and on demand at no extra cost. Available on a range of mobile devices, as well as on consoles (for an extra fee), the app has become an essential part of Sky’s appeal, making it possible for people to watch their favourite pay-TV shows without having to fight over the remote in the living room – something that will become particularly useful during the festive season.
An Amazon Video app for Apple TV is also rumoured to be in the works. Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky’s Director of TV Products, commented: “It’s brilliant that Amazon Fire tablets are now compatible with Sky Go in time for the great line up of TV this December. Sky Go on Amazon Fire Stick gives you access to various types of content such as movies, sports events, breaking news, TV shows, and many others. In addition to movies and other shows, it also offers a wide range of content for children. Sky Go on Firestick lets you stream content for hours without any limit. Then go to Roaming and delete the Sky and Sky Go folders. Download the Sky Go app from the official Sky website. Then open the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the app. B) If you’re on Mac. On your desktop, click Go and click Applications. Remove the Sky Go app. Go back to your desktop, then click Go and click.
Sky Go is now supposed on multiple generations of Fire tablets, including the new tablet released by Amazon for the holidays, which is available for less than £50. Will this compatibility with Amazon’s Fire OS (based on Android) mean that Sky Go could eventually arrive on Fire TV devices? It’s possible, given that Amazon has now started to open up its cross-platform doors, releasing an Amazon Video app for Roku devices for the first time this autumn. An Amazon Video app for Apple TV is also rumoured to be in the works.
